Brush-up
Brush-up is for students who already have a GED or high school diploma and would like to "brush-up" on basic skills in:
- Learn basic computer literacy.
- Improve language, writing, and math skill areas.
- Prepare for further training in Technical College or University.
- Earn a promotion in a current job.
Basic Literacy
Literacy is defined as the individual's ability to read, write and speak effectively. Our literacy program provides instruction for individuals who need assistance in these areas.
Literacy Volunteers
The Lewis and Clark Literacy Council provides FREE:
- One-on-one tutoring
- Tutor-training workshops and in-service sessions
- English as a Second Language instruction and materials
- Referrals to other educational and vocational programs
- Preparation for written Driver's License examination
- Preparation for US Citizenship tests
- Assistance to the Adult Learning Center
English as a Second Language
Our courses here provide assistance for those people whose second language is English. Instruction is provided in the areas of reading, vocabulary, writing, and basic grammar skills.
