Who is eligible?

Eligibility is limited to those persons between the ages of 16–21 not currently enrolled in school and who do not have a high school diploma. Students must also meet entry-level course placement requirements. Students not meeting the minimum requirements will be referred to one of the other skill building programs.

How are Access To Success students supported?

In addition to free tuition and books, students are given individual case management and access to campus resources. Access to Success maintains small class sizes creating a supportive environment.

What is the cost?

Access to Success students will receive free tuition, books and other necessities. Students pay only the current admission fee for UM-Helena ($30 non-refundable fee).

What are the students expectations?

Access to Success students are given the opportunity to pursue their education in an adult learning environment on the campus of UM-Helena. Expectations for attendance and class performance are consistent with the other UM-Helena students. It is strongly suggested that only students with the motivation and maturity to succeed in a college environment apply.

What will the first semester be like?

Students will take a ‘Strategies for Success’ course and begin taking courses for their high school diploma or career path.

What calendar does Access To Success follow?

Students will follow the UM-Helena academic calendar for Fall and Spring semesters .   Access to Success students have the option of enrolling in a class during the summer months.

What if I already have a GED?

Many of our students have their GED and still choose to come to Access to Success because we offer a High School Diploma.
